I want to explain to you why I named my blog "To Be Known". I was listening to a podcast the other day with two men that own a publishing company. They were talking about how many transcripts get sent to them that are basically the author's life story. The men were talking about how everyone wants to tell their story. They made the observation that at the root of it, everyone just wanted to be known.
In a sense, a blog is a way for me to reveal a little of who I am and "to be known". It is also, however, a little more than that. I truly believe I have a unique way that the Lord wants me to reveal who He is. I am supposed to be the "Heather expression of Jesus" as a friend put it. Along with that, I have realized more than wanting to be known by others, I crave to be known by God and I crave to know God. This blog will also be a little peek into me sorting through life and what the ideal of being known by God and knowing God looks like in practical ways. I honestly have more questions in my head than answers.
I was thinking about people that want to be famous, or even the thrill of meeting new people. How fun it is for someone to want to know you and to want to get to know another person. I don't think it is just chance that we have that desire. There is a root cause to it. I want to explore it.
