My thankful list

I love hearing what everyone is thankful for. I read the facebook status', and get a smile on my face.

The other day, the oldest of "my boys" threw a terrible tantrum. It was so bad he was sent to time out for 2 hours. While in there, his mom had him finish some homework: writing a poem about what he is thankful for. Two hours later, he came out of his room very sobered. I wouldn't be surprised if part of it had to do with him writing that poem.

Every year, my family goes around the table and says what we are thankful to the Lord for. I usually say something about God's faithfulness. Oh my goodness, how I am overwhelmed by how faithful the Lord is. He has been the constant in my life for years and I notice it the most when I am not constant to Him. But this year I want to also share what I am thankful for because of the Lord's faithfulness.

School: This has been an unexpected blessing. I have learned so much, interacted with so many unique and beautiful people and been inspired and challenged to become a harder more diligent worker.

Moving out: I have moved in with my best friend, Rachel. I did not know a roommate could be so wonderful. Rachel has been an encouragement and support to me. She constantly is showing me love. I love living with someone who knows me so well (we have 10 years of history together).

Counseling: This year I decided to go to counseling for some issues that after trying to process on my own and with other fellow believers, I decided would be best to have a professional help me sort through. My love for the Lord has grown, my confidence in who God has made me has grown and I have been able to more confidently love and serve others. It is one of the things I am most thankful for!

My Nephew: I did not know it was possible to love someone so much. From the moment I left the hospital after my first meeting, I felt very protective of the little man. He truly has been the love of my life this year. My heart gets so full when I am around him.

My Parents: I think when you move out, you get more of an appreciation for parents. The older I am and the more responsibility I get, the more I realize how purposeful you have to be to serve. My parents have been such a huge support to me throughout my life, encouraging, confronting and supporting me. My parents are the ones that introduced me to the true love of my life (the Lord). That is something that is impossible to pay back or express your gratitude for.

There is so much more but those are just some of the many things I am grateful for!
